The UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Staff Council objectives are to:

• Promote and safeguard the rights, interests, and welfare of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS staff. 
•  Promote better understanding between the Administration and the Staff of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS, especially in formulating and implementing policies, guidelines, rules and regulations, affecting staff. 
• Promote cooperation with UN Common System Staff Associations and Unions on matters governing conditions of service with the United Nations and Specialized Agencies.

These objectives are pursued through discussions and negotiations with the Administrator of UNDP; the Executive Directors of UNFPA and UNOPS and their representatives; and close cooperation with the Staff Associations, Unions and Federations of the United Nations Common System, both in Country Offices and at Headquarters.
